UPDATE January 2024: This film had a brief re-airing on PBS in 2023, so we took it down here, but now it’s back up!

The US racial reckoning of 2020 resulted in, amongst other things, a renewed push for the reimagining of the teaching of history in schools, and the importance of Black History education — not as a “contribution” to American History, but as the critical element through which a comprehensive understanding of America is formed.

Long ago, in 2009 and 2010, we made a film that tried, through humor and introspection, to get at the vitality of this discussion. The result was the 2012 PBS film More Than A Month. The filmmakers of More Than A Month have made the film available to stream here free. We hope it serves as a discussion starter, educational resource, or simply a fun and revealing watch.
